SUMMARY:Suicide Prevention in College Students & Young Adults
DESCRIPTION:College students and young adults face unique academic\, social\, financial\, and transitional challenges that can contribute to increased mental health concerns and suicide risk. This webinar will explore risk and protective factors within this population while highlighting evidence-based approaches to early identification\, intervention\, and suicide prevention. Participants will learn how higher education institutions\, healthcare and behavioral health providers\, and community partners can collaborate to improve access to support and strengthen systems of care. The session will also highlight practical strategies for creating supportive environments that promote mental well-being and reduce suicide risk among college students and young adults. \n\n\n\nBy participating in this training\, you will be able to: \n\n\n\n\nIdentify key risk and protective factors associated with suicide among college students and young adults.\n\n\n\nDescribe common systemic barriers that affect access to behavioral health services\, crisis support\, and campus and community resources.\n\n\n\nDevelop practical approaches to strengthening campus environments and systems of care that promote mental health\, resilience\, and suicide prevention.
