Supporting People with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD)

September 29 @ 12:00 pm 1:00 pm

Description:  Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASDs) are very common and usually ‘invisible’, but there is little awareness and few resources for those impacted by them. As children and adults with FASDs interact with services and systems, there is a risk that their support needs may not be acknowledged, understood, or implemented. In this training, Nate Sheets will provide you with important information on how to interact with, support, and follow up with a person with an FASD (and their family).

Objectives:

  • Understand how FASD impacts the lives of people with FASD, including their behaviors, strengths, and cognitive differences.
  • Cover essential supports for children and adults with FASD.
  • Explore how to adapt these strategies into your work with this population.
