Treatment Finder App
This privacy statement governs your use of the vital Treatment Finder mobile (“Application”) created by the vital project. The Application provides users with immediate access to information to assist with finding treatment in Alabama for substance use, mental health and crisis centers. Features include a built-in GPS to locate the user and provide the most relevant information for treatment.

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?
User Provided Information – The Application does not collect or store user information.
The Application does not require the user input any information upon download or during usage. Automatically Collected Information – The Application may collect certain information automatically, such as a unique randomly generated anonymous user ID, the app version and updates, location data when using the application, and information about the way you use the Application. Information that is automatically collected is anonymous.
Types of Data Collected from Third Parties
Analytics
We may use third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Application, to provide the Application on our behalf, to perform Application-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Application is used.
- The Apple IOS store and Google Play Store allow our application to be distributed through third parties. These mobile stores collect data regarding phone manufacturer and device model, installation and uninstallation dates, and application crashes.
Usage Data
When you access the Application with a mobile device, this Usage Data may include information such as your mobile device unique ID, device fine-grained location using GPS and WiFi, search queries within the application, and information regarding which facilities are being viewed.
Use of Data
The University of Alabama uses the collected data for various purposes:
- To provide and maintain the Application
- To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Application when you choose to do so
- To provide analysis or valuable information so that we can improve the Application and the access to services in high areas of need
- To monitor the usage of the Application
- To detect, prevent and address technical issues.
