  • From Awareness to Recovery: Improving Substance Use Access in LEP Communities

    Limited-English-proficiency (LEP) individuals face multiple language, cultural, and system-navigation barriers that can delay recognition of substance use concerns and access to care. For some LEP individuals, substance use education and treatment first occur after justice involvement, reflecting prior language, cultural, and system-navigation barriers. This FREE webinar examines how culturally responsive education, interpretation, and coordinated referral pathways can expand voluntary access to substance use education and treatment before justice involvement.

  • What Am I Looking At? Viewing the ASAM- Based Integrated Placement Assessment

    The ASAM-based state placement assessment is the starting point of state-funded substance use treatment in Alabama. Because of the nature of the assessment and its role in placement and ongoing treatment, it is important for all individuals involved in a client’s continuum of care to have a general understanding of the document. This FREE presentation will provide a general overview of the placement assessment, as well as identify areas of interest for different disciplines involved in the care of a client seeking substance use treatment.
